B-T showed up against Eleva-Strum last Friday night, but fell behind early to the Cardinals and struggled to regain momentum.

The Cardinals got yards in chunks against the Wildcats. E-S’s first touchdown came off an 85-yard dart that was taken to the house for a score.

E-S would strike again on its next possession marching down the field and capitalizing the drive with a 14-yard run to go ahead 14-0.

Long runs and no answers would be the story of the night for the Wildcats.

“They kept fighting in the second half when it would have been easy to take plays off, that shows great character from the boys,” head coach Jeremy Hanson said.

B-T would be able to stave off a shut out late in the game as the Wildcats finally were able to get within striking distance.

A six-yard pass to Colton Schleh from Matthew Waldera would put B-T on the board trailing 44-8 after a two-point conversion.

It was too late to overcome the deficit, but the Wildcats kept fighting. Matthew Brandenburg scored again for B-T on a 5-yard run, making the final score 44-14.

The Wildcats next have a homestead against Whitehall as conference play continues.
