Black River Falls and Lincoln cross country teams are really getting in gear as they enter the home stretch of the season.

The Tigers and Hornets traveled to Eleva-Strum for the most recent invitational with BRF coming out strong.

BRF’s girls team would take second place overall, coming in a just behind Elk Mound.

Ellie Dolesy would again be the best finisher for the Tigers coming in at fifth overall, but just behind her was teammate Zyannah Deloney.

Ashley Holmgreen of Lincoln came in the top 20 with her 18th place finish overall, while fellow Hornet Elizabeth Prindle came just short at 21st.

Sabreya Crawford and Naomi Falcon came in 30th and 31st respectively for the Tigers.

Both boys teams saw similar success as the BRF boys came in fourth as a team, while Lincoln’s boys came in seventh.

The Tigers would come just barely short of taking the top spot as Adam Wiesender finished just a second after the first place finisher.

The top 10 would be dominated by Augusta and Elk Mound, forcing BRF’s Kobe Nichols out of that tier and he finished in 11th place.

John Kramer finished at 17th and Matthew Becker finished at 20th to give the Tigers a strong showing in the top 20.

Lincoln’s best finisher would be Ethan Breheim who came in 30th place. Teammate Lance Mikel came in 37th.
