Three Jackson County teams along with a few others came down to Black River Falls to compete in a volleyball tournament Saturday.

The Tigers, Melrose-Mindoro and Lincoln brought their respective squads to battle it out in some early season competition.

Mel-Min would drop its pool play matches against Logan and Nekoosa, but would take one win over BRF.

The Hornets found itself stung by Mauston and Eau Claire Immanuel, but did manage a win over Wild Rose.

BRF’s only loss during pool play would come at the hands of the Mustangs as they beat out both Logan and Nekoosa.

In the champions bracket, BRF would first face off against Mauston, strolling past them to a 2-0 win.

Logan beat out Eau Claire Immanuel for the right to challenge the Tigers on their home turf for the title of tournament champion.

BRF continued to show its strength as the Rangers were steam rolled and BRF took the crown.

The Tigers put up impressive numbers as Maggie Roou had 29 total kills, Kim Leadholm had 62 assists and 13 aces, and Channing Manske had 67 digs.

Mel-Min and Lincoln would make it to the final round of the consolation bracket where the Mustangs would walk away with a 2-0 win.
