Hornets end volleyball season to Alma-Pepin

Paige Sheffer lays out during Lincoln’s 3-1 match loss to Alma-Pepin last Thursday, ending their season in tournament play.

The Lincoln Volleyball season came to a close last Thursday as the Hornets fell to Alma-Pepin in four sets.

“The girls fought hard and left it all on the floor,” head coach Danielle Castle said. “They had a fabulous season overall and should be proud of the things they did on and off the court. From raising over 8,500 dollars at their Pink Night, starting a Little Hitters clinic and breaking an over 11-year first-round playoff curse they have much to be proud of.”

Lincoln lost the first two sets 25-20 and 25-11, but came back in the third to take the set 25-19. The Hornets would drop the fourth set and the game 25-16.

Cassidy Huber, McKenna Zimbauer and Natalie Fischer led the team in serving and had a combined five aces. Maddy Shramek had 11 kills, Fisher had six kills, Zimbauer had five kills and Lauren Boyer had three kills.
