Hornets Volleyball falls to Mel-Min and Immanuel

Lincoln’s Natalie Fischer goes up for the spike as Mel-Min gets ready for the block in their game last Thursday where Mel-Min would come away with a 3-1 match win.

Lincoln traveled to Melrose to take on the Mustangs last Thursday. The Hornets fought hard and took the first set but ended up falling 3-1 on the night.

Lincoln would win the first set with a score of 25-22, and then the Mustangs would take over and win the next three 25-22, 26-16 and 25-13.

Sadie Eliason had three aces and Lauren Boyer and Cassidy Huber were able to tack on two more each in the ace category.

As far as overall serving percentage on the night, Maddy Shramek and McKenna Zimbauer led the team. Maddy was 12-for-13 behind the line and McKenna was 11-for-12.

Middle hitters Maddy Shramek and Elise Theiler each had three kills, and right side hitter McKenna Zimbauer was able to get three of her own as well.

The Hornets also faced off against Eau Claire Immanuel earlier in the week.

Lincoln put up another tough fight, but lost 1-3. Immanuel would take the first two sets 25-12 and 25-22. Lincoln would win a close third set at 27-25 and then lose big in the fourth set 25-10.

Shramek and Fischer led the team in kills on the night.
