The Tigers headed to the ice Tuesday against the Aquinas Avalanche hockey team coming away with a 9-5 loss.

The Avalanche would score first with 7:37 elapsed.

The Tigers would strike back at 8:08 when Jacob Meek would score the tying goal off a Matt Collins assist.

The Avalanche answered with two more goals in the period putting them back on top 3-1.

The Tigers pulled back within striking distance after Ryan Engebretson scored the second goal for the Tigers at 15:02 in the period.

The Avalanche answered quickly in the second period with a goal of their own, but the Tigers matched that goal with one of their own after James Kuhnle scored a goal for the Tigers off a Collins assist putting the Tigers down 4-3.

The Avalanche again answered with a goal of their own.

The Tigers would match the score at 12:27 in the period on an Engebretson to Reese Vold goal.

Unfortunately from there the Avalance scored four more goals to soundly defeat the Tigers.

The only answer from the Tigers came in the third period with 4:58 expired on a goal by Engebretson with the assist from Collins.

The Tigers are now 6-6 overall and 4-3 in the Independents Conference.
