Blair-Taylor was ready to hit the playoffs running as the Wildcats came into a Tuesday night match up against Eleva-Strum for the first regional match.

“We went in with an end of season play win which always helps,” head coach Tammy Stensven said.

B-T showed up ready to play and win.

The Wildcats took E-S in three sets with scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-23.

“It really was a good match and we just played really good ball,” Stensven said.

McKenna Nehring had herself a game with 12 kills and seven aces, while Danyelle Waldera and Liza Howe both came in with five kills each.

The young B-T squad was able to upset its seventh-seeded opponent.

Thursday would be a much harder test as the Wildcats came up against second-seed Bangor.

“We knew we had a tough match ahead of us, but overall the girls played hard and gave it what they had,” Stensven said.

Bangor took the match in three and moved ahead to play Saturday. Scores were 25-13, 25-23 and 25-14.

“We ended our season knowing that we came together as a team and played till the end,” Stensven said.

Nehring had 11 kills for the night. Marlee Nehring had 12 assists and 11 digs.

The Wildcats finished with an overall record of 10-25, 4-6 in conference.
