SHEBOYGAN/COLBY, Wis. — Brandon Scott Sargent was born July 3, 1984, to Scott and Pamela Sargent (O’Blenes) in Sheboygan. He passed away with his father, step-mother, sister and step-brother at his side Nov. 16, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
A lifelong resident of Sheboygan, he had recently relocated to Colby. Brandon was a mischievous boy, full of curiosity and always known as the class clown. He had an infectious smile, and a heart that held more love than he had the opportunity to show. He went out of his way to help his siblings, and so desperately wanted a family of his own that his frustration at not being able to achieve it was his deepest sorrow.
As a teenager, Brandon enjoyed cooking and he thought he might like to be a chef. That changed when he became part of a construction crew during his junior and senior years at South High School in Sheboygan as part of their home building project. He graduated from South High School in 2002. He became very proficient in working with wood and worked at several furniture and cabinet shops. His mechanical aptitude made him skilled at car repairs, and he not only helped friends and family with repairs, he was also employed in several Sheboygan area garages.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Leonard & Gloria O’Blenes as well as his paternal grandmother, Jane Wiles, and other relatives.
He leaves behind his father, Scott Sargent; his wife, Linda, of Holmen; mother, Pamela Sargent (O’Blenes) of Sheboygan; older brother Steve and his wife, Natalie; niece, Charlotte and nephew, Ben, of Sheboygan; younger sister, Cassandra Sargent and her fiancée Curtis Milligan of St Louis Park, Minn.; step-sister, Jacqueline Lair and husband Dan, their children Katarina and Seth of Bremerton Wash.; step-brother, Shaun Mullikin and his wife Tami, their children Madalyn and Hayden Harr of West Salem; step-brother, Ryan Mullikin and his wife Tami, their daughter Allie of Sobieski, Wis.; and paternal grandfather, Lloyd Sargent and wife Kathy of Plymouth, Wis.; Aunt Tobi Stoll and husband Bob of Suwanee, Ga.; Aunt Talli Sargent of Plymouth; Uncle Jaime Sargent and wife Tonya, their children Ryan and David, of Colby; and Uncle Shawn Sargent and wife Cindy of Greenville, Wis., are surviving relatives, along with a list of friends too numerous to mention.
He shall always be loved, and he will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 623 Ontario Ave., Sheboygan. A service of remembrance will immediately follow.
