Our Lord saw she was ready and said, “come home daughter.” Marian Beatrice Klonecki passed away peacefully from her earthly home to her heavenly home Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at the age of 88.
Marian was born in Taylor, Wis., Aug. 5, 1928, to John and Amelia (Kupietz) Pierzyna. She married Raymond S. Klonecki Oct. 5, 1948, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Arcadia.
Marian was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Arcadia, Wis., and its Parish Council of Catholic Women. She taught CCD and volunteered at the St. Joseph Nursing Home in Arcadia. She was one of the first employees of Arcadia Furniture Corporation, which is now Ashley Furniture, and worked there for over 45 years. Mom loved to go for rides in the country, go to her grandchildren’s sporting events and play cards with her family. She also loved dancing with Dad, old time music and picnics at Cashen Park. God and Family were most important to her as well as her Polish heritage.
Marian was a devout Catholic, never missing Sunday Mass. She had a very strong work ethic, that she passed on to her children. With her unconditional love, Mom gave her husband and children, and even the neighborhood children, all the things money couldn’t buy. All holidays were special to her, especially Christmas. Even though we had a house full, there was always room for extended family and friends.
Marian is survived by her brother, Ronald Pierzyna of La Crosse; her eight children, Susan (Dean) Townsend of La Crosse, Francis (Mary), Randall (Kristie), Dennis “Bim” (Mary), Eva (Paul) Anderson, Nancy (Dan) Filla, all of Arcadia, Sandy ”Sam” Rhude of Onalaska, and Kristine (Scott) Gahnz of Winona. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three aunts; one uncle; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years; her son, Dean; granddaughter, Angela Filla; her brothers, Jerome “Chief,” Leonard and Richard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 31, with visitation from 9 a.m. until time of services at Holy Family Catholic Church in Arcadia, with Father Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Wozney-Killian Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Online condolences may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Marian’s family would like to extend a special thanks to all the wonderful staff at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Arcadia, and Bethany Riverside in La Crosse. Your care and concern for our mother will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to “family wishes.”
