BARRE MILLS, Wis. — Thomas H. “Tom” Tremain, 48, of Barre Mills, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at his home.

He was born July 17, 1965, in La Crosse, to Donald and Donna (Hoier) Tremain. Tom attended Christ-St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from West Salem High School. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, trapping and fishing. Tom spent many hours in his valley where he found serenity and he loved sharing time with his family and three children. He was employed at Great Lakes Cheese in La Crosse. Tom was a loving dad who always put his family first.

Survivors include his three children, Cassandra, Benjamin, and Billy Tremain, all of West Salem; his girlfriend, Toni Smith of Barre Mills; four sisters, Mary (Ben) Perez of Sparta, Julie (Alan) Meier of West Salem, Anne (Thomas) Kohlmeier of West Salem, and Katie (David) Reedich of Sparta; his former wife, Rhonda Tremain-Yeiter of West Salem; two aunts, Marcella Kastenschmidt of Bangor and Darlene (James) Dovenberg of West Salem; one uncle, John (Chris) Tremain of Lewistown, Mont.; Toni’s daughter, Ashley Limberg of Barre Mills; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, (Jostad Chapel), 121 N. Youlon St., West Salem. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. Online condolences may be sent at www.jandtfredrickson.com.
