Thomas W. Hutchison, 63, lost his courageous battle with Leukemia on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011.
Tom was born on Aug. 27, 1948, in La Crosse, LaVern and Ruth (Cox) Hutchison who preceded him in death. He worked for the City of La Crosse and later for the town of Campbell before retiring. He served on the La Crosse County Board, taught gun hunter’s safety courses for 10 years, enjoyed hanging out with his family, woodworking with his grandchildren and gardening. Lots of time was spent at the hunting land enjoying all aspects of the great outdoors.
Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, Donna; his brother, Phillip (Carol) Hutchison, Holmen; sister, Debra (Gary) Thrower, Mindoro; sisters-in-law, Linda Groom, Steuben, Wis., Barbara Blanchard, Marshfield, Wis., and Kay Burns, Boscobel, Wis.; brothers-in-law, Michael Groom, Wauzeka, Wis., Alan (Melanie) Groom, Wauzeka, Todd (Kelly) Groom, Boscobel, and Hollis Groom, La Crosse; his mother-in-law, Helen Groom, Steuben; his children, Melissa (Matthew) Schultz, La Crosse, Philip (Kathleen) Schroeder, La Crosse, Kim Hutchison (fiancé, Eric Osgood), Stevens Point, Wis., Jaimi (Scott) Lamprich, Onalaska, and Nicholas Hutchison, Stevens Point; as well as his grandchildren, Ryan and Katie Schultz, Keslee and Griffin Schroeder, Tyra, Baily and Storm Gaines, Cora and Kayla Yetter, Traven and Mason Hutchison, Michael, Jonathon and Lucas Lamprich; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the outstanding staff at Gundersen Lutheran and especially those on 4 Center, AIC, and Palliative Care. We would also like to add a special thank you to Dr. John Farnen and Beth Rock for starting out as Tom’s providers, but ending up as friends. Tom was thankful for his transport buddies, Gary Thrower and Hollis Groom for the frequent trips to and from his medical appointments. He wanted you to know how much he enjoyed the breakfasts and camaraderie.
As Tom always said, “it’s never good-bye, it’s I’ll see ya later”. We love you and will miss you deeply.
