The Wine Institute describes pinot noir as “complex, elusive and difficult to grow.” But for the winemaker it also brings great reward with the risk.
The parallels between great wine and great love makes this a natural selection for Valentine’s Day. Sourced from California’s Central Coast grapes, the black and gold label beckons “fall in love with the darker side of pinot noir.”
It is a deeper color in the glass and provides a slightly sweet and very approachable blend of dark fruit with a soft texture.
Sherry: “Flavors of black cherry and blueberry with clove and tiny hint of cocoa on the finish.” (3.5 stars out of 5)
Chris: “Cigar box bouquet with black cherry flavor and a hint of raisin.” (3.5 stars out of 5)
Available from $10 to $12.
