Two physicians will explain solutions for common rashes, skin infections, acne, hair disorders and pigmentation changes in children during a free program at 6 p.m. April 5 in Marycrest Auditorium in the hospital building of Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare at 700 West St. S. in La Crosse.

Drs. Kristina Schlecht and Khrystyne Lindgren of Mayo-Franciscan’s Family Health Clinic will present information about over-the-counter remedies to soothe children’s skin and when it’s time to see the doctor.

  • Getting school-age children to sleep better at night — On April 19, Dr. Christopher Tookey will explain how much sleep a child needs and common obstacles to good sleep, as well as lifestyle changes you can make to promote sleep.
  • Healthy eating and physical activity — On May 17, RN Jamie Pronschinske, a registered dietitian nutritionist, will use the nationally recognized childhood obesity prevention program “5-2-1-0 Let’s Go!” and the Plate Method to demonstrate hands-on activities.
