The You Matter employee wellness program at Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare received the Platinum Well Workplace Award from the Wellness Council of America.

The program, which encourages staffers to be healthier in mind, body and spirit, includes yearly wellness challenges, webinars, education, behavior change and lifestyle management programs, online tools, cash incentives and ongoing help to make healthy lifestyle choices easier.

To achieve the council’s highest honor, program leaders had to submit a lengthy application to demonstrate the program’s ability to succeed.

“Our goal is to help employees in our organization be happy and healthy. Doing so creates a more positive environment for our patients and staff, making Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare a great place to work and receive care,” Mayo-Franciscan health promotion director Lori Freit-Hammes said.
