BLACK RIVER FALLS — Five adults found in a Jackson County house last week with drugs and a firearm face felony criminal charges, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
The Emergency Response Team searched the house at 21 First St. in Taylor late Tuesday after a tip claimed the group was making methamphetamine inside.
Investigators found meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, stolen items and a gun inside, according to the sheriff’s department. They did not find a meth lab.
A child was removed from the home and placed in protective custody.
Laura Rud, 37, of Holmen and Holly Stanfield, 33, of La Crosse were charged Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court with drug crimes. Stanfield also is accused of having stolen property and neglecting a child.
Facing charges of drug possession, having stolen property and being a felon in possession of a firearm are: Terrance Whitehead, 32, Joshua Smith, 38, and Robert Stanfield, 30.
