BLACK RIVER FALLS — Five adults found in a Jackson County house last week with drugs and a firearm face felony criminal charges, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

The Emergency Response Team searched the house at 21 First St. in Taylor late Tuesday after a tip claimed the group was making methamphetamine inside.

Investigators found meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, stolen items and a gun inside, according to the sheriff’s department. They did not find a meth lab.

A child was removed from the home and placed in protective custody.

Laura Rud, 37, of Holmen and Holly Stanfield, 33, of La Crosse were charged Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court with drug crimes. Stanfield also is accused of having stolen property and neglecting a child.

Facing charges of  drug possession, having stolen property and being a felon in possession of a firearm are: Terrance Whitehead, 32, Joshua Smith, 38, and Robert Stanfield, 30.

For Holly Stanfield for being 33 years old and this is her 1st time getting into trouble, that is pretty flipping good. If u look @ some of these other ppl @ the age of 33 they have been in trouble for years. For those of u that think tht little boy should have been removed a long time ago, u don't know the whole story and maybe u should look in ur own closet and make sure that ur perfect, and I bet UR NOT! About the firearm, it is a gun that was found under the floor where they were replacing a hot water heater. They didn't even know it was there until this happened.

Meth, heroin, crack cocaine is an American tragedy and ruining so many people lives. It's an epidemic and these people will kill, steal and do anything to get there fix. And to think marijuana is in this same category of drugs is absurd! That should be legalized and sold like tobacco and alcohol. Then use the tax revenue to fight these harder drugs out on our streets. Mary Jane just gets a bad wrap and prohibition on that drug has failed and it is harmless. Go after these addicted drug addicts and the hard drugs that are poisoning our youth and society.

Tribune must have gotten age wrong on Robert Stanfield. If you look on Holly's current charge and Robert's last charge, their addresses are the same. It appears he is the one born in 1975, which now makes sense about a felon in poss. of weapon

Now if the tribune got the ages wrong, the I could be mistaken, but based on the article... Robert Stanfield, 30 and Holly Stanfield have no criminal court record in WI until now. Innocent until proven guilty people.

In addition, it's interesting that Robert can be charged as a felon in possession of a firearm, without a criminal past. Also of interest, how only one gun was recovered but three people could be charged with possessing it.

That little boy should have been removed a long time ago. La Crossed PD knew what Rob and Holly did but left the boy in her care.

Garbage ... pure garbage. Stanfield should never have custody of the child again. It's time judges start putting teeth in sentences. These five , if convicted , should be dropped into a manure pit - that is where they belong and what they deserve. Worthless pieces of human slime.
