The School District of La Crosse will hold its 2009 Band Extravaganza at 7 p.m. today at the La Crosse Center.

The concert will feature all of the district's seventh- through 12th- grade band students. Student band members in each grade from throughout the district will perform songs together.

The Central and Logan High School Marching Bands will perform individually as well as together. The Concert's mass band piece "You're A Grand Old Flag" will conclude the event.

"This is a favorite concert for parents and teachers alike," said Steve Michaels, Supervisor of Fine Arts for the School District of La Crosse, in a press release. "It is an excellent opportunity for people to watch and listen to the progress our band students make as they move through our music program."

"There are very few times all our schools' bands perform at one concert. It makes for a very special night," Michaels added.

The concert is free and open to the public. Doors to the La Crosse Center open at 6:45 p.m.
