Ashley’s Angels, a volunteer nonprofit organization, has raised more than $100,000 locally to provide gifts and necessities to area children.

Contributions from Ashley Furniture employees, the Ashley Foundation and fundraising events totaled more than $105,000 this year, which will benefit 147 families and 349 children, according to a company news release.

Ashley’s Angels works with 13 regional school districts to identify children who need extra help. Every child gets a coat, clothes and a Christmas present.

Volunteers are helping with the shopping this week at Onalaska and Winona WalMart stores and Onalaska’s Sam’s Club.

The presents will be delivered to the schools for distribution.
