Felony child sexual assault and abuse charges are pending against an educational assistant at Holmen High School.

Timothy Schilling, 47, of La Crosse will appear next week in La Crosse County Circuit Court for first-degree sexual assault of a child, repeated sexual assault of the same child and child abuse.

In a letter to parents, Holmen District Administrator Kristin Mueller said Schilling was arrested on Monday.

“Based upon the information we received from law enforcement, there is no evidence the current charges involve the School District of Holmen or our students,” she stated.

As an educational assistant, Schilling assisted with building security. He did not work in classrooms.

Schilling is on unpaid leave and his employment is under review, according to the letter. He cannot have contact with students or be on school district property.

“We will cooperate with law enforcement to assist them in any way we can to bring timely closure to this unfortunate situation,” Mueller wrote.

Schilling is free on a $10,000 signature bond.
