The following people appeared in La Crosse County Circuit Court:


Macie Connaughty, 23, no permanent address, was charged Thursday with possession of narcotic drugs and methamphetamine, felony bail jumping, misdemeanor battery, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass and two counts of disorderly conduct. Connaughty punched a woman and broke a window at the woman’s house on Feb. 16 and had meth and heroin on Feb. 26, according to the complaint.

Jonathan Baum, 22, of 315 Rose St. was charged Thursday with possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor bail jumping and possession of THC, all as a repeat offender. Clifton Traywick, 22, of 1220 Caledonia St. was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of methamphetamine and cocaine. and felony bail jumping, all as a repeat offender. A state trooper found a gun in their car on Feb. 22, and Baum with marijuana and Traywick with meth and cocaine, according to the complaint.

Megan Rasmussen, 22, of Hokah, Minn., was charged Thursday as a fugitive. Rasmussen is wanted in Houston County, Minn., for theft, according to the complaint.

Benjamin Balfany, 37, of Dakota, Minn., was charged Thursday with burglary and felony bail jumping. Balfany broke into a North Side house for jewelry, electronics and other valuables on Feb. 22, according to the complaint.

Raphiel Kuntu, 26, unknown address, was charged Friday with three counts of heroin delivery and deliver of cocaine, all as a repeat offender. Kuntu sold heroin in August and September and cocaine in August, according to the complaint.

Matthew Copus, 35, of 2203 Charles St., was charged Friday with fourth-offense operating while intoxicated and with a restricted controlled substance in blood, possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and THC and operating a motor vehicle while revoked, all as a repeat offender. Copus drove while under the influence of a drug and had meth, marijuana and a pipe in his car on Thursday, according to the complaint.

James Whitaker, 71, of Holmen was charged Friday fourth-offense operating while intoxicated and with a prohibited alcohol concentration. Whitaker drove Feb. 18 with a 0.17 percent preliminary blood-alcohol level, according to the complaint.
