A La Crosse man who will be tried in June for sexual assault is accused of raping a woman in a downtown La Crosse hotel room March 6.
The victim in the most recent case said she met up with Eric Danielson Jr., 25, at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites on Pearl Street so he could repay a loan, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in La Crosse County Circuit Court.
Danielson, who said he drank a bottle a rum, attacked the woman in his hotel room, pinning her to a bed and sexually assaulting her, the complaint stated.
He then strangled her and bit her breast before she scratched his neck.
She escaped the hotel when she said she needed to use the restroom.
Danielson told police the contact was consensual and that he cut his neck shaving, according to the complaint.
He accused the woman of stealing $1,600 from his room and falsifying the sexual assault allegation.
Prosecutors charged Danielson with second-degree sexual assault, attempted second-degree sexual assault, strangulation, false imprisonment and felony bail jumping, all as a repeat offender.
He is jailed on a $10,000 cash bond.
Danielson also is accused of assaulting another woman in early November 2016 at a house on La Crosse’s North Side.
His trial in that case for second-degree sexual assault as a repeat offender is June 27.
He has two misdemeanor convictions for having sex with a child older than 16.
