A rural Hillpoint man was taken into custody on Monday at a Richland Center park for allegedly trying to connect with a minor for sex.
The minor was not at the park as police set up a sting operation to arrest Drew Sackmann, 21, the Richland County Sheriff's Office said.
Sackmann was arrested without incident and tentatively charged with child enticement, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and exposing a child to harmful material.
The investigation into Sackmann's alleged activity showed he was attempting to solicit sexual acts from a minor through electronic devices.
"When officers learned of his previous attempts to contact a minor, officers posed as the underage female where further contact was made by Sackmann," the report said.
Sackmann allegedly made requests for sexual acts and sent inappropriate pictures, while believing he was speaking to the minor.
"A meeting was set up by the investigating officer at Krouskop Park in Richland Center, in which Sackmann believed the minor would meet him," the report said.
When Sackmann arrived at the park, he was arrested, with officers finding other evidence of the crimes at the scene.
