A disorderly conduct charge is pending against a man accused of pulling a knife on a bouncer early Saturday.

Wayne Byers’ girlfriend told police he took her wallet during an argument about 2 a.m. Saturday at Brother’s Bar on Pearl Street, according to La Crosse police reports.

Byers, 30, pulled a knife on bouncer who chased him. The bouncer then drew his own knife, the reports stated.

The men separated and police found Byers with a pocketknife and his girlfriend’s wallet, according to reports. He said the bouncer showed a knife first and threatened to stab him, reports stated.

Byers, who said he is leave from Ft. Hood in Texas, faces two counts of disorderly conduct, one while armed, when he appears in La Crosse County Circuit Court.
