WAUKON, Iowa — A Waukon man was arrested for meth and cited for an animal control violation after police and sheriff’s deputies searched a home Tuesday.

Blake Alan Pohlman, 29, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia and ticketed for having a prohibited breed dog. He remained in the Allamakee County Jail as of Wednesday.

According to court records, Pohlman was letting his pit bull outside a house at 61 Jean Road around 7 p.m. Tuesday when Waukon police and Allamakee sheriff’s deputies pulled up with a search warrant.

Officers found a scale with white residue, a bag of crystalline substance and two hypodermic needles containing a liquid during the search, records state.

Authorities used a dog catcher pole to detain the dog because it was acting aggressive towards officers, records state. Waukon has an ordinance prohibiting pit bull breeds inside city limits, according to court records.

Also arrested during the search were Christine Bark, 30, of Waukon, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia; Dillan Boydston, 35, of Fountain, Minn., possession of methamphetamine, possession of oxymetholone and possession of drug paraphernalia; and Jenny McGuigan, 39, of Waukon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
