HOLMEN -- Jessica Hammer was crowned Miss Seven Rivers 2018, crowned at Saturday’s ninth annual scholarship pageant at Holmen High School after competing with eight other contestants.
Hammer, who was crowned by Miss Seven Rivers 2017 Zoe Roou, is a senior communications/public relations major at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The daughter of Fritz and Susie Hammer of Portage, she previously won the Miss Northern Lights 2016 title. For the talent portion of the competition, she performed a lyrical dance to “These Dreams.”
In addition to the $1,100 in scholarship money she won, Hammer, 21, also earned the chance to compete at the 2018 Miss Wisconsin Pageant in June. She previously competed in the state pageant in 2016.
First, second and third runners-up were Mattie Mae Krause of La Crosse, Ciarra Bullard of La Crosse and Hayley Wolfe of Portage. They won scholarships of $300, $200 and $100, respectively.
Olivia Ahnen of Fennimore and Brooke Doescher of Wisconsin Rapids were named co-winners of the nonfinalist interview award, while Ahnen claimed the nonfinalist talent award.
Also competing in the pageant were Emily Phillips of Sparta, Anastacia King of Oshkosh and Gabby Dachel of New Richmond.
