City crews Monday will begin curbside leaf collection in La Crosse, starting on the North Side and working south, officials said.
Leaves should be piled loosely on the boulevard — not in the street — by 7 a.m. to be picked up by trucks and leaf vacuums. Leaves that are bagged, covered or mixed with other brush will not be taken.
If a truck already has passed through the neighborhood, it could be two weeks before the next collection, officials said. But the city hopes to make four complete collection rounds this fall, weather permitting.
Updates on where the trucks will be each day can be seen at the city’s website, www.cityoflacrosse.org, or by calling the recycling office at 608-789-7508, option 2.
Leaves also can be taken to the city’s yard waste and brush site on Isle la Plume until Nov. 21.
