A La Crosse man faces criminal charges after threatened to kill to his father on Facebook, police said.

An online friend reported the alarming post early Sunday after Kaleb Brush wrote "i’m gonna kill my dad i promise you that i already got a knife in my pocket waiting for him to get home," according to La Crosse police reports.

Officers found Brush and his father arguing in the entryway of their home at 1311 North St. about 3:30 a.m. Brush had a kitchen knife with a 4 1/2-inch blade in his pocket, reports stated. Police arrested him for disorderly conduct while armed.

Brush’s father told police he stopped his son from joining a fight at a North Side bar before the two began arguing about drinking, reports stated. Brush’s father went to another bar while his son returned home and posted the threat online, reports stated.

Brush’s Facebook friends responded by writing him to stop his threats and posted that he was scaring them.

"Please don’t do something you’ll regret for the rest of your life," one wrote.

Brush replied with expletive-laced messages, including one that read: "i’m sorry lize but dad is dead when he gets here."

Brush later told police he carries the knife for protection. His father said he wasn’t concerned and that he planned to throw away a victim’s rights and statement forms from police.

It'd be pretty difficult to kill someone on Facebook.

Sounds like an issue between father and son and much ado about nothing.

His Facebook page says he is from Tomah. After reviewing his page, he sounds like a spoiled whining crybaby. I can see why his father wasn't really concerned.
