A La Crosse woman best known for her loud outfits and animated dancing was arrested Saturday afternoon after police say she broke into a man's apartment and tried attacking him with a 2-by-4.
"Peaches," also known as 45-year-old Brenda Jackson, called 911 about 3 p.m. saying someone broke into her house and "this would lead to murder," according to police reports.
Police found a chaotic scene outside 201 Avon St., with Jackson on the ground shaking, yelling and possibly having a seizure. When she calmed down, she told police a man stole her Xbox.
That man said Jackson came to his apartment armed with the 2-by-4 and banged it on the door knob until it broke, reports state. She kicked the door in and ran around his apartment "out of control" throwing her 2-by-4 into his walls.
Police learned later the Xbox actually belonged to the victim and Jackson's nephew had retrieved it from her apartment. Officers took Jackson's 2-by-4 as evidence.
Officers also arrested David Bright after he tried to interfere with the investigation, swore at police and called one a "ding dong." He had a 0.13 percent alcohol level.
Prosecutors charged Jackson on Monday with criminal trespass, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct, all as a repeat offender. She's free on a signature bond.
