A La Crosse man sought in connection with a stabbing March 11 on the city's North Side is jailed and facing criminal charges.
Davonte Owens, 23, is accused of stabbing his girlfriend’s estranged husband in the leg during an argument in the 800 block of Hagar Street, according to La Crosse police reports. Owens and Amanda Bakalars, 30, left the victim bleeding in the street before officers found him on the sidewalk yelling for help.
The victim, 34-year-old Daniel Bakalars, was treated at a local hospital.
Owens, who was arrested Monday, faces charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and bail jumping when he appears in La Crosse County Circuit. Amanda Bakalars is charged with failing to render aid and bail jumping.
