A La Crosse sex offender was sentenced to three years in prison Thursday for viewing child pornography.

Thomas Drusch, 59, pleaded guilty in La Crosse County Circuit Court to one of the 11 counts of possession of child pornography charges filed against him. He receives credit for 416 days served and also will serve 10 years on extended supervision.

A circulation supervisor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Murphy Library on Dec. 9, 2013, called police when a woman caught Drusch looking up pornography, according to police reports.

Drusch claimed he was looking at models, but officers found sexually graphic videos and pictures of children as young as 4 years old during a search of the computer, according to the complaint.

A La Crosse County jury in September 2013 found Drusch was no longer a sexually violent person under state law before a judge released him from state care. He was convicted of molesting several children in 1985 and 1986.
