Many rural schools have delayed the start of school by two hours or closed entirely today because of roads that are still snow-covered after a weekend storm dropped as much as a foot of snow on the Coulee Region.

Alma, Arcadia, Bangor, Black River Falls, Blair-Taylor, Cashton, Cochrane-Fountain City, De Soto, Gilmanton, Independence, Ithaca, La Farge, Mauston, Melrose-Mindoro, New Lisbon, Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton, Royall, Sparta, Tomah, Viroqua, Whitehall school districts and Coulee Region Christian School in Wisconsin; Lewsiton-Altura and Winona school districts in Minnesota; and Allamakee and Eastern Allamakee school districts in Iowa will start classes two hours late.

Classes have been canceled entirely at Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan school district and Onalaska Luther in Wisconsin.
