Amy Stopcynski of Land O’Lakes in northern Wisconsin took inspiration from her Army son who is deployed overseas and it led to her winning a $1.4 million jackpot on a slot machine at a casino just over the border in upper Michigan, WFHW reported in this story.
Stopcynski’s son Brandon, who is deployed in Poland, likes the Game of Thrones and while she has never seen the TV series, she decided to play a Game of Thrones-themed slot machine at Northern Waters Casino Resort in Watersmeet on Oct. 17.
"I thought, you know, I haven't seen Brandon in a long time," she said in the TV station’s story. "I'm going to just sit down and play the Game of Thrones, sort of in honor of him.
"All of these coins, these gold coins started coming up on the screen. The numbers started counting up. The lady next to me said, 'Oh, you did really good, you did really good.' I said, 'This isn't real. This is not real.' "
WFJW said her first purchase was a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, replacing her 24-year-old Jeep without a muffler, and she next plans to purchase a house of her own.
