A survey of gubernatorial job approval levels in all 50 states found Gov. Scott Walker ended 2017 with one of the worst approval ratings in the nation.

The online survey, conducted by Morning Consult, found 43 percent of respondents approved of Walker's job performance while 50 percent disapproved in the final quarter of 2017, with 8 percent of respondents expressing no opinion.

The disapproval figure puts Walker in the bottom 10 of all governors in the survey as he runs for a third term in 2018. The 43 percent approval figure was the 13th lowest in the survey.

Morning Consult says its report was based on an online survey of 253,393 registered U.S. voters from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2017. The Wisconsin result had a margin of error of +/-1 percentage point. Read the full survey methodology here.

Walker is one of just four out of the 19 governors seeking re-election in 2018 to have a negative net approval rating in the survey. The others are Illinois' Gov. Bruce Rauner (-24 net approval), Alaska's Gov. Bill Walker (-26) and Rhode Island's Gov. Gina Raimondo (-7).

The previous three quarterly surveys from Morning Consult found Walker had a -4 net approval rating in the third quarter of 2017 (9th-highest disapproval), a -8 net approval in the second quarter (6th-highest disapproval) and a -5 net approval in the first quarter (7th-highest disapproval).

The last Marquette Law School Poll in June found Walker breaking even with 48 percent of respondents approving and 48 percent disapproving of his job performance. The last Marquette poll to find a higher approval level than disapproval level came in October 2014 just before he won re-election with 52 percent support.

So far 17 Democrats have registered campaigns with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission ahead of the November 2018 general election.

The nine Democratic candidates with the most active campaigns are State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers, former state Democratic Party chairman Matt Flynn, Milwaukee-area businessman Andy Gronik, former Wisconsin Democracy Campaign executive director Mike McCabe, Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin president Mahlon Mitchell, former Rep. Kelda Roys of Madison, Madison Mayor Paul Soglin, Sen. Kathleen Vinehout of Alma and Rep. Dana Wachs of Eau Claire.

The 2018 statewide partisan primary election will be held Aug. 14. The general election is Nov. 6.

Hillary couldn’t lose, Trump didn’t have a chance, Walker didn’t have a chance in the recall, the polls said so. So much for polls.

"Walker didn’t have a chance in the recall, the polls said so."
Wrong! Every single poll showed Walker as the clear favorite before the recall election: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wisconsin_gubernatorial_recall_election#Polling
The final Marquette University poll before the recall election showed Walker as the favorite over Barrett 52% to 45%. Like Trump you should learn that it sucks when somebody fact checks your comments.
Polls just give the odds of winning, not a guarantee that any candidate will win, but that doesn't fit your narrative, does it?

Morning consult, polling group hired by leftist Vox, Political and NYTimes. So of course would not slant questions or poll left. Right. What really matters is what do the citizens of Wi. Think of Walker.
