The Way it Was: 1915 Open Cab Delivery

A circa 1915 street scene showing an open cab delivery truck for the old Sisson-Seielstad-Hougen Co. wholesale grocery business (1913-1929) parked in front of the firm’s building at 107-113 Front St. N.

This truck was manufactured by the Kissel Motor Car Co. of Hartford, Wis., which produced autos and trucks from 1907 to 1930, according to online files. The building shown here, built in 1871, was replaced by a new building in 1922, which in turn was razed in 1970 for the Harborview Project.
