Up to 20 Viterbo University students will receive scholarships under a new program focusing on education and engineering.

Viterbo will award the new, $2,000 scholarships to students majoring in education or engineering who enroll for fall 2018 by Wednesday, Nov. 1. In addition, a one-time $1,000 For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology Robotics Scholarship will be competitively awarded to one student who has participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition or FIRST Tech Challenge program in high school.

“We are committed to keeping Viterbo University as affordable as possible while at the same time promoting our excellent programs,” said Brian Weber, Viterbo director of undergraduate admission.

Viterbo’s new engineering program is a partnership between the university and Western Technical college, with the first class set to start in fall 2018. The program will be accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, but the university is also seeking accreditation through the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology Inc.
