I’m overwhelmed by the tragedy that occurred at May’s Photo on Saturday. There are no words to express the depth of sadness I feel for my dear friend and her family.
The decision by the Tribune to run a picture of this unimaginable moment of despair was pure sensationalism, and its journalists should be ashamed of themselves. This puts the Tribune in the company of grocery store tabloids.
We are human enough to grasp the emotions of the tragedy. The incident was news. Where it happened was news. This picture was not news. It was tactless, unnecessary and invasive.
