In separate Saturday night incidents, two Madison men were arrested for alleged 5th drunk driving offenses.

According to Madison police, officers attempted to halt Preston D. Boggs, 26, in a traffic stop at approximately 5:30 p.m. when they noticed his truck appeared to be sporting recent front-end damage and a flat tire.

Although Boggs initially waved at the police and continued driving, he did stop a short time later and was subsequently arrested for an alleged 5th drunken driving offense.

Police discovered a damaged vehicle in the 300 block of Pawling Street they believe Boggs struck. Although Boggs sustained minor injuries, he refused treatment and was taken to Dane County Jail to await possible charges.

In a separate incident, Terry D. Lewis, 50, was also arrested by police on suspicions of a fifth drunk driving offense, according to the State Patrol.

Lewis was stopped by the State Patrol at the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway N, near the village of Cottage Grove around 2:30 a.m. and was later arrested for alleged drunk driving.
