Sauk County Circuit Court Judge Michael Screnock is running for state Supreme Court to replace outgoing Justice Michael Gableman. His name will be on the ballot Tuesday, April 3.
Screnock will respect the Constitution, review a case and apply the law. He is not an activist judge. He will not legislate from the bench. Screnock has said he is dedicated to upholding the separation of powers and the rule of law.
He has an amazing resume of public service. He ran the city of Reedsburg's community development program. where he assisted low-income and first-time homeowners make necessary home repairs.
As an attorney, Screnock worked on many complex cases, including defending Act 10. He worked on numerous cases before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Since 2015, Screnock has been a Sauk County Circuit Court judge, handling every type of case, including juvenile, probate, small claims, harassment injunctions, divorce and family matters, civil disputes, civil commitments, and every manner of criminal case from disorderly conduct to first-degree intentional homicide.
Screnock has received the endorsement of five active or retired Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices, 41 judges, and 51 of 72 sheriffs. His life experience makes him uniquely prepared to be Wisconsin’s next supreme court justice.
