After reading the article about the 50-year old former professor who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl (Tuesday's Tribune), I was disappointed with the sentence handed out by La Crosse County Circuit Judge Ramona Gonzalez.
When she sentenced him to three years probation — with the threat of prison time if he violate the terms — she said, "I am not satisfied that this won't happen again."
What message did Gonzalez send to that 14-year-old girl? I hope everyone takes the time to read this article, and I hope the victim knows that there are people who are outraged by the judge's decision.
