To state the obvious, a tax cut means less revenue to government services: less revenue for education, health care, police and fire protection, for deteriorating highways, aging bridges and water and sewer systems.
Of course, there’s borrowing, the method Gov. Scott Walker uses. So, our deteriorating infrastructure becomes more fragile. Many fewer children have health coverage or appropriate education. And of course, we should certainly cut back on police and fire protection with the challenges of the 21st century.
And now Paul Ryan has promised that next year the Trump Republicans will reduce Social Security and Medicare for future generations.
Hopefully, your tax savings will offset the harm done to our children and grandchildren – not.
