Walker changes tune for campaigning
I believe that Gov. Scott Walker got elected largely because he claimed that he would provide jobs and balance the budget. That would take care of much of the state’s debt.
And he did balance the budget, primarily on the backs of the public schools and public unions.
Now as he is expected to announce that he’ll run for office again, he is returning part of the money he took from the public schools back to the public schools; giving a chunk of it to private schools as well. And of course, seeking credit for his beneficence.
This is not the time to raise taxes, so the budget recommendation is to borrow $500 million to begin to repair the highways that have deteriorated during his watch. To finally get the jobs that he has promised, Wisconsin will pledge $3 billion to Foxconn.
So much for getting our children out of debt.
