The La Crosse Tribune recently published a full-page thank-you ad from the Rotary Lights officials.
Apparently, the most recent Rotary Lights event had unprecedented turnouts of visitors, volunteers and donations. That's great. Rotary Lights is one of the highlights of the year for our area and attracts visitors from miles around.
The mission to collect food for the hungry is commendable and successful.
It was very appropriate to thank the many volunteers who help in many ways with the Rotary Lights project. Numerous individuals and groups were thanked.
However, there was one noticeable omission and that is those who volunteered every weekend to present the Living Nativity. The Living Nativity represents the true meaning of Christmas, which is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Those who donate their time to stand outside for hours as part of the Living deserve a note of thanks.
