On Nov. 15, the Tribune made a University of Wisconsin-La Crosse student’s Twitter account front page news. In contrast, a story highlighting the city’s $70 million 2018 budget was considered a lesser story.

This type of reporting by the Tribune is disappointing and disheartening. Chasing a more attractive headline as opposed to getting important information out to the people is a profound error in judgement.

The La Crosse Tribune has a responsibility to weed out the stories that are non-stories. The people deserve better.
