As fall approached, I like many of the residents of Onalaska were waiting for the leaves to fall so we could start our fall clean-up. But Mother Nature had other plans.
The trees here did not drop their foliage as well as other towns, but in Onalaska our leadership choose to go on as a normal year and picked up leaves the second week of October and now we find out that was the only time they would be picked up.
As you drive around town you see that piles of leaves remain on the curbs for pickup, but we were told they are now our problem. with the weather so warm as of late and this past weekend people were out in force to get them out on time .
So here we sit, leaves piled up and our city is failing us once again, but we would have known all of this had we known that the only notice was on their website.
Thank you, Onalaska Street Department, maybe the gale-force winds of November will take care of them for you.
