CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- Jacob Meyers hit a three-run home run in the second inning, leading the Quad Cities River Bandits to an 8-4 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Wednesday.

The home run by Meyers gave the River Bandits a 5-2 lead and capped a five-run inning for Quad Cities. Earlier in the inning, Quad Cities tied the game when Jonathan Lacroix hit an RBI single.

The River Bandits later added a run in the third and two in the fifth. In the third, Bryan De La Cruz hit an RBI single, while Jake Adams and Colton Shaver hit RBI singles in the fifth.

Cedar Rapids missed an additional scoring opportunity in the sixth, when Alex Kirilloff grounded out with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Carlos Sanabria (1-0) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while Cedar Rapids starter Randy Dobnak (3-2) took the loss in the Midwest League game.
