LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Kevin Smith homered and doubled, driving in five runs and scoring a pair as the Lansing Lugnuts topped the Dayton Dragons 12-2 on Wednesday.
Brock Lundquist homered and singled with three RBIs for Lansing.
Down 1-0, the Lugnuts went out in front in the second inning when Lundquist hit a two-run home run.
The Lugnuts later scored five runs in the fifth and sixth innings to complete the blowout. In the fifth, Smith hit a two-run home run, while Smith hit a bases-clearing double in the sixth.
Lansing right-hander Yennsy Diaz (4-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Packy Naughton (3-3) took the loss in the Midwest League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and five hits over 4 1/3 innings.
Jeter Downs homered and doubled for the Dragons.
With the win, Lansing remains undefeated (7-0) against Dayton this season.
