Sophomore forward Sam Dekker scored 21 of his team-high 28 points in the second half, but the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team dropped a 95-82 decision to Carleton University in an exhibition game Wednesday night in Ottawa, Canada.

The game was the first of five the Badgers will play during a week-long trip to Canada.

Philip Scrubb had 30 points and 12 assists to lead the Ravens, who improved to 3-0 against NCAA competition this summer. Tyson Hinz added 25 points for Carleton, which shot 53.6 percent from the field and only committed six turnovers.

Junior guard Traevon Jackson added 19 points for the Badgers, who also got 14 points from junior center Frank Kaminsky and 10 from junior forward Duje Dukan.

Carleton, which has won nine of the last 11 Canadian national championships, led for almost the entire game. The Ravens used a 12-0 run late in the first half to build a 48-32 lead and took a 15-point into the halftime break.

Carleton turned nine UW turnovers into 15 points and went 6-for-11 from 3-point range in the first half.

UW coach Bo Ryan went with a starting lineup that included three guards -- Jackson, senior Ben Brust and junior Josh Gasser -- along with Dekker and Kaminsky.

Gasser, who missed last season with a left knee injury, played 12 minutes and scored two points.

Ryan used 13 players in the first 10 minutes of the game. At one point, he had four freshmen -- forwards Nigel Hayes and Vitto Brown, along with guards Bronson Koenig and Jordan Hill -- on the court at the same time.
