The Badgers and the Spartans close their four-game regular-season series at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The University of Wisconsin men's hockey team starts the second half of the Big Ten Conference schedule Friday night against Michigan State (7 p.m., no TV, BTN Plus pay stream, 1310 AM), and it needs to start racking up victories if it wants to secure home ice for the playoffs.
The regular-season champion gets a first-round bye in the three-round Big Ten playoffs, while the second, third and fourth seeds host first-round series.
The Badgers, who are winless in four games, are tied with Minnesota for fourth place with 14 points through 12 contests.
