Three University of Wisconsin men's hockey recruits were chosen to represent the United States in the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, USA Hockey announced Monday.

Defensemen Ty Emberson, K'Andre Miller and Christian Krygier will play in the tournament starting Thursday in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Emberson and Miller play for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program's Under-17 Team, while Krygier, who plays for Lincoln in the United States Hockey League, is one of two players added to the group for the tournament.

The tournament, which runs through Nov. 5, includes three Canadian teams, the U.S., Finland, Russia, Sweden and the Czech Republic.

Emberson, an Eau Claire native, has two assists and is minus-4 in 12 games for the Under-17 Team. Miller, from Hopkins, Minnesota, has two goals and four assists and is plus-1.

Krygier, from Novi, Michigan, hasn't recorded a point in nine games for Lincoln.
