CALEDONIA, Minn.— For the eighth straight year, the Caledonia High School football team will play in the Section 1AA final after a convincing 53-0 win Saturday night over Triton.

The Warriors received a strong showing from quarterback Alex Varney. Despite completing only 10 passes, Varney tallied six touchdowns.

Adam Buttell, Levi Schmitz and Alex Goetzing were each on the end of two touchdown receptions, as Goetzing led the way with scores from 33 and 16 yards out.

The defense posted its fourth shutout of the season.

The Warriors will square off against Three Rivers-rival Chatfield at 7 p.m. Friday in Caledonia.

The Warriors claimed the first meeting of the two teams with a 6-0 victory on Oct. 5.
