Wilson, a freshman, not only scored the first touchdown of his college career, he carried 13 times for 88 yards as fifth-ranked NDSU beat 10th-ranked South Dakota 49-14 at the Fargodome.

After a loss to South Dakota State last week, the Bison (9-1, 6-1) got back on the winning track by scoring 28 points in the first half.

Wilson's first carry came on NDSU's first possession of the second quarter, and he gained 4 yards on a first-and-10 snap. He scored from 28 yards out on the next play to give the Bison a 21-7 lead with 11 minutes, 11 seconds left in the first half.

He carried nine times on NDSU's final possession of the game and picked up three first downs, the first coming on a 17-yard burst and the last on an 8-yard run on fourth-and-3 from the South Dakota 38.

Wilson, the Tribune's co-player of the year as a senior, didn't catch a pass after hauling on two of them in the first game of his career last week.
